While seeking inspiration for this Moroccan bridal editorial, I stumbled upon dozens of beautiful venues. Marrakech, before definitely unknown to me, has quickly become a labyrinth of fabulous opportunities and places. I haven’t found a single ordinary wedding venue; all the locations were absolutely fantastic! But when I saw Palais Namaskar for the first time, I had no more doubts. That had to be the place for our editorial photography in Morocco.
Palais Namaskar is a magnificent palace with lush gardens and lovely decorations, 20 minutes away from the centre of Marrakech. The oriental architecture and the elegance of the hotel are legendary, and when the lights illuminate everything at dusk, you feel like in a magical fairytale. The grounds are spacious with stylish furniture and fabulous details. All rooms have a whirlpool, and the restaurant serves presumably the most exquisite food in Marrakech. Palais Namaskar gives you a real 1001 nights feel.
I began taking pictures a few hours before sunset, to take advantage of the best light of the day. Some grey clouds were gathering on the horizon and made me blanch – seriously, can you imagine Morocco with the rain? 😳But it has been sunny throughout all the photo shoot. The model Mary is stunning and posed beautifully, and it wasn’t hard to shoot her in the most beautiful spots of the venue. It was a pleasure to portray her as she twirled with the wedding gowns on the walkways. Palais Namaskar is a game of mirrors on water, and at some point, we took courage and sent her in the pool for real!
The ones you see below are just some of the hundreds of spots that I wanted to photograph, but a week probably wouldn’t have been enough only to see them all. A heartfelt thank goes to my fellow adventurers below, with whom I spent some of the most relaxing days of my life in the streets of Marrakech. Let’s do it again soon!
